Take control in the kitchen with our hands on Knife Skills Master Class. We all use kitchen knives on a day to day basis but are we using them correctly? This knife skills class is designed to give you the confidence to become a more ambitious chef in the kitchen.
Knowing how to use knives skilfully is the foundation of all cooking, it doesn't have to be scary or frustrating. Many home and even professional cooks don't always wield a knife correctly, which increases food preparation time and makes the process harder --- and less safe --- than it should be. Simply put, good knives are the foundation of a well-equipped kitchen and being able to use those knives makes preparation a breeze. How many times have you looked at a recipe and thought, I’m no good at chopping onions, how do I julienne my carrots, I always struggle to finely chop my garlic. This class remedies all these basic issues: You will learn how to slice, dice, chop, and much more in the safest and most efficient manner. This class will even guide you through the practice of keeping your knives sharp and handling them correctly.
This hands on master class has been designed to show you how to get the most out of your knives and which knife is needed for the job. We'll have you slicing, dicing and chopping a selection of ingredients as well as filleting a flat fish with minimal waste.
This Knife Skills Master Class is hands on and allows you to practice your knife skills with our expert Development Chef Bruno on hand to show you the do's and don'ts.
On the day, Bruno will start by talking you through the different knife types, followed by the importance of knife sharpening and the different sharpeners available - we could do a course just on that. This will be followed by some hands on knife skills. You will have your own station and selection of knives to work with so you can learn how to slice and dice and then move on to filleting a flat fish. We'll also show you how to make a simple sauce and then serve lunch.
