Michael Wignall at the Toolshed@W2

The 23rd July saw SousVideTools host its third Guest Chef takeover at the Toolshed@W2, its state of the art development kitchen in the heart of London.  This time it was the turn of Michelin acclaimed Chef Michael Wignall.

Michael has recently taken over the helm of the Angel at Hetton near Skipton in North Yorkshire and has previously held two Michelin stars at the Latymer Restaurant at Pennyhill Park as well as Gidleigh Park, in Devon.  The Angel is Michael’s most exciting venture to date, marking the beginning of a new adventure in the finest food, drink and hospitality.

Discerning Guests on the evening were treat to a 7 course tasting menu which included a specially selected drinks flight and experienced a taste of the Yorkshire hospitality that the Angel has to offer but in the heart of London in Connaught Village.

With a menu comprising of Michael signature dish of Smoked Eel, Apple, Caviar and White Chocolate as well as Calves sweetbread, sweetcorn, popcorn, Japanese gel and coriander the guests were provided with an intimate dining experience that they will never forget.  Michael certainly did not hold back considering it was the first time he had cooked at the Toolshed but with a full equipped kitchen with all the most modern cooking equipment to hand he was certainly became at home very quickly and we look forward to welcoming him and Jac back in the future.

Special thanks to Udale Speciality Foods for once again supporting us with our events with some amazing Sweet Breads & Squab Pigeon for Michael to use.  Flying Fish (Cornwall) for the extremely fresh Turbot straight off the boat and delivered to us direct in London as well as M&J Seafoods for supplying the Oscietra Caviar.
