Opening Its Doors: Moor Hall, Aughton

Opening its doors this month is Moor Hall and SousVide Tools were lucky enough to visit recently to sample just a few of the delicious delights on the menu at the soft launch.

Moor Hall is situated in Aughton, West Lancashire in five acres of breathtaking formal and growing gardens with views to the south over a beautiful lake, said to be the remains of a medieval moat. A grade II* listed gentry house of mid-sixteenth century origin, Moor Hall is one of the most important listed buildings in the UK, was first recorded in 1282 and the present manor house was built in 1533. The site was acquired by Andy and Tracey Bell in 2015 and has since undergone a major renovation and refurbishment.

Headed up by Chef Patron Mark Birchall, most recently Executive Chef of 2 Michelin Star L’Enclume and who won the Roux Scholarship, the premier competition for chefs in the UK, Moor Hall has some ambitious plans in place to really push the boundaries in the kitchen and we are proud to have worked with the team over the past few months to supply some specialists pieces of equipment for the project including our first GastroVac oven.

The team have created a modern restaurant for fifty guests, a private dining room, relaxing bar and lounge with seven luxury bedrooms whilst the converted barn will follow later as a contemporary casual dining experience.
