Ingredients

  • 4 Large cooking apples
  • 2 tsp. Crumbled dried thyme or sage
  • ½ tsp. Salt
  • ½ tsp. Freshly ground black pepper
  • 125ml Cider vinegar or white vinegar

Who said that snacking was bad for you? Not with these healthy apple rings. These are easy to make and can be stored for up to three months meaning you will always have a stash of guilt free snacks to hand. Plus, they taste so good that we thinks the kids will love them too!

METHOD

  1. Combine the vinegar, pepper, salt and thyme in a bowl
  2. Peel and core the apples
  3. Cut thinly across to make the apple rings
  4. Dip the apple slices into the vinegar mixture, shake off any excess and arrange of the mesh dehydrator trays
  5. Dehydrate at a temperature of 68⁰C for 4 hours or until the apples are crisp. Once ready move to a wire rack and allow to cool.
  6. Serve immediately or store for up to three months in an airtight container at room temperature
