Peppered Beef Jerky

Ingredients

  • 5 x minute steaks – 3 mm thickness
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp crushed pink peppercorns
  • ½ tsp crushed black peppercorns
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp sugar

Equipment

Method

  1. Set your de-hydrator to 60C
  2. Combine the dry spices, salt and sugar to create a rub
  3. Cover steaks in the rub and de-hydrate for 2 – 5 hours until the meat has gone leathery but with a slight bend
  4. Store in an airtight container

Chef’s Tip:

Serve with a blue cheese dressing for a cheeky dip
